Razor saw
A very small backsaw having very finely pitched crosscut teeth, often with no set. The Razor saw is used by woodworkers enthusiasts. Razor saws typically use disposable blades, since their teeth are so small as to be impractical to re-sharpen. A razor saw is capable of making clean cuts in very soft woods like Balsa, which most other saws would tend to tear out.
JigSaw
A machine saw with a fine blade enabling it to cut straight and curved lines in a sheet of wood.
A jigsaw is a saw which uses a reciprocating blade to cut irregular curves, such as stenciled designs or jigsaw wood patterns.
Some modern jigsaw models come with a laser cutter guide that casts a thin red cutting line out from the front of the saw. This is a helpful feature for maintaining a straight cutting line with a jigsaw
x-Acto
It is a brand name for a variety of cutting tools owned by Elmer’s Products, Inc. Cutting tools include hobby and utility knives, saws, carving tools and many small-scale precision knives used for crafts and other applications.
An X-Acto knife may be called a utility knife, precision knife or hobby knife. It is a blade mounted on a pen-like aluminum body, used for crafting and hobbies, such as model making.
There are numerous other knives on the market with very similar designs. Blades are typically interchangeable between different brands.
The original knife was invented in the 1930s by Sundel Doniger. He had planned to sell it to surgeons as a scalpel but it was not acceptable, because it could not be cleaned. His brother-in-law, Daniel Glück suggested that it might be a good craft tool.
